East Midlands Regional Plan has stated 430,000 new homes should be built in the area

430,000 homes planned for East Midlands Developments areas have been identified as:
– Nottingham
– Derby
– Leicester
– Northampton
– Lincoln

Also the growth areas which have successfully bid for £100 million to help fund new housing are:
– Corby
– Kettering
– Wellingborough

Phil Hope, minister for east midlands was quoted as saying “Despite the current difficulties in the market, the number of households in the east midlands is growing and to keep up with the rise in demand we do need to provide more homes.”
