20080313_ashfordAshford is a designated growth area with 31,000 new homes and 28,000 new jobs planned for by 2031.

A new development in Elwick Place occupies a strategic position between the town’s main County Square Shopping Centre and Ashford’s international & domestic railway.

This 2.6 hectare development is due to have a mixed use of housing, offices retail and leisure facilities.

The redevelopment of this strategic site is aimed to coincide with the opening of a high-speed rail service which will cut London journey times to less than 37 mins. This is the first major new railway to be built in the UK in over a century.

Additionally, Ashford’s main shopping centre is undergoing a £60 million extension which will double its size. It is due to open Spring 2008.
