The Housing Minister has announced that councils are to be offered a 510m grant to speed up the housing process.
Called the Housing & Planning Delivery Grant, it will offer councils a direct incentive to build houses where they are needed.
In the public sector news website 24dash, it is reported that “land is often cited as the reason for blockage in the delivery of new homes.
Councils are now required to identify at least five years worth of suitable sites ready for housing and a further 10 years worth for future development.”
