Government Urged to Build out of Recession

20090311_2020groupA newly formed housing body, the 2020 Group, has demanded the urgent need to build more homes.

With the Government already committed to building an additional 12,500 houses in two years, it is now being recommended to build an additional 100,000 homes.

The 2020 Group has estimated huge job losses in the construction industry and Groups chairwoman Kate Barker has said house building offered “excellent value in terms of sustaining economic activity” and was “urgently needed”.
