Former Foreign Secretary makes a dramatic return to the cabinet as the new Housing Minister.

Margret Beckett has returned to the cabinet from the backbenches. The MP for Derby South replaces Caroline Flint.

The National Housing Federation has welcomed the appointment of Beckett as the new Housing Minister and Federation Assistant Director Helen Williams said, “With her wealth of experience in government, Ms Beckett will be well qualified for the job.”
